This film has a limited audience. If you like intense, hard to watch independent style thrillers or dramas high on psychological intensity such as mother! The Shining or The machinist this film might appeal to you. If you want guns, blood, car crashes, babes in bikinis and happy endings you will probably hate this film.
In my view this film is almost perfect, the filming is very reminiscent of Kubrick's The Shining or even Eyes Wide Shut, the acting is disturbing and stilted, but it's supposed to be, and it's done very well.
This film is like the finest Stilton cheese, it's perfect but it's of limited popular appeal.

Such a great actor. Bobbys dying! yells at Bobby Me as a parent. Nice review, but I would say that the religious part has nothing to do with christianity/Jesus, as it is all about pre-christian greek religions, where there was no place for forgiveness. Damn i can't wait to watch it on tv 😂.

Weird, weird, weird movie. But, great

Is it just me or Barry Keoghan looks like Joel Edgerton's son. Loved “The Lobster”. Nicole Kidman is everywhere lately. I don't care what they do, but there needs to be a Conan/Colin Farrell remote. It would be goddamn amazing. This was an intense film. If you're anxious to see the worst writing and directing possible, you'll be giddy with pleasure. As an added benefit, this disaster also adds the most unlikable cast on earth to the mix. It's billed as a horror and mystery. The horror is the fact that I actually paid to sit through this mess. The mystery was why I thought a movie with Nicole Kidman, Colin Farrell and Alicia Silverstone would be worth 2 hours of my life.

Colin farrel is a beast. I agree! I have so many questions and there is so much I didn't understand but, I will never forget this movie. Colin Farrell gave me this robotic, physco path vibe. I thought he would be the one to watch. But I definitely picked up on the weird kid immediately. Colin teach me English language with phone booth, it's true I swear. I just hated it. Dont watch it, just please dont watch it. Why the video do not include the name of the film on its title? Why they never refer to the director, Lanthimos, by his name.

I have no idea why I liked this movie since I had no clue what was going on. It's kind of like The Shinning, but without the ghosts. Man I'm part of the 'holy shit this movie is weird man' crowd and I'll be honest it pretty much completely lost me not long after Bob got sick, I'm watching some videos explaining the movie then maybe I'll go back and watch it with a better grip on context and themes Also is it just me or was it pretty obvious throughout the film that Bob was going to be the one sacrificed. Wtf people who saw it at Cannes thought it pretty good and now everyone suddenly hates it.

Good explanation but maybe they chose to kill Bob, this would save the other two. The wife talked about having another child so why would she be involved in a random murder. Like a moral Dilemma. It would also appear to the boy that they were all being killed. Hence the two shots, the number of steps could have been rehearsed or could he see through the woolly hat.
